How to Plan Ahead for a Home Improvement?

Before you embark on any expensive home improvement plans, it helps to assess your needs. Here is a checklist of questions you would need to ask while designing or redesigning your living room.

Do you want to use your living room mainly for entertaining, watching television, l istening to music, working or hobbies?

If you are using your living room for all these activities and more, would you prefer to split the room into clearly defined zones or create an open plan space?

Would wall mounted cupboards or shelves free up enough space for an extra table or chair?

Do you need to choose a floor covering, which children can play on safely, that can be cleaned
easily, and that can be walked on barefoot in comfort?

Does your flooring have to cope with a lot of wear and tear? Would rugs placed on heavy wear areas help to maintain the flooring's appearance and extend its life?

Would either a moveable screen or static room divider help you to carry out more than one activity at a time, without interruption?

Does your living area have access to a garden? If so, can that flooring withstand marks or damage from people walking in or out?

Would your use of the living room benefit from improved access to other rooms, such as the dining room and kitchen or to the garden? Could you install an additional door or knock through a wall?
